My tadpole has arrived!!!

My tadpole has just arrived!!! I have been waiting for six weeks now. His name is Hopper. He is about one centimeter long. I will post a picture later, because my Mom's camera has no batteries right now.

My tadpole came in a small clear plastic tube in an envelope. So I need to let it change to the water temperature of the habitat. You let the tube sit in the water inside the habitat for 30 minutes, then you release the tadpole into the water. Eventually my tadpole will morph into a frog. The process takes about 12 weeks. I will chronicle the events of his metamorphisis as they are occuring. Stay tuned! For more information on the metamorphisis, look down at the earlier post on my blog.

Hanging Out

I was checking my email today, as usual, and Aunt Jan sent me an email with pictures of animals. I was scrolling through them and found this:

Wonder how that happened?
We went to the Placerita Nature Center yesterday on a field trip. First, they showed us some animals: a King snake, a tarantula (which Mom was afraid of and covered her eyes), a beautiful hawk, and an alligator lizard named Sandy. Then we went on a tour and saw an old cabin, an Indian Tiki (yes, a Tiki, not a teepee), various plants and trees, such as Sycamore, Oak, Poison Oak, Black Sage, and fox scat. We had lunch, played with our friends, and then went home.
P.S. Prayer request: I hit my head, please pray for that!

Newport Beach

This weekend, we went to Newport Beach while Dad was working on a project there. When we arrived, we parked and walked on the pier. Mom said, "There's a shell shop. Let's go inside!" I was just starting to look, and I saw a frog made of shells.

I found my things unusually fast, while Luke couldn't decide what he wanted. As you can see in the background, I also got a starfish. Did you know starfish have tiny suction cups on their legs, so they can stick to anything? Just like Patrick Star. I had a great time this weekend. My new favorite food is seafood. We went to the Crab Cooker restaurant and I had lobster, squid, shrimp, and scallops. It was delicious.
