Pancakes for Breakfast

We were having pancakes for breakfast today, and I said to Mom, "Can you make a little pancake for Leapers (my stuffed frog)?" Then I said "Can you make that size for the rats, I bet they'd like it!" So we gave each rat their own personal mini pancake. Daisy, which is our black and white rat, got hers first and started munching down on it. We gave the second one to Rosie, our white rat. She tried to figure out, "How am I going to eat this?" She finally figured out how to eat it and started nibbling on the sides, while Daisy was 3/4 of the way done with hers. She must really like pancakes. They asked for syrup and butter, but syrup would stick to their fur.

A frog's organs

My Dad came home from work yesterday and said he had something for me. Every once in a while, Dad brings me home something. For instance, he brought me home a windshield wiper controller because he knows I like gadgets. So he said, "A guy at work said he had something he wanted to give away, but I told him I knew someone who would really like that." Then Dad reached into his backpack and pulled out a package with a clear plastic frog with all of its organs inside it!








So I took it apart and looked at the back of the package to figure out how to put it back together.





As you can see, it doesn't tell you how to put it back together, it just shows you the organs and where they go. I got confused and put half of his large intestine connected to his small intestine. Then I figured out later that two of the large intestine pieces connected together to make one large intestine. This is the best gift Dad could've given me! He gave it to me just in time to post it on my frog blog.

The life-cycle of a frog.

This is the Life-cycle frog.

1. A female frog lays about 200-2,000 eggs in the water and the male frog fertilizes them.
2. Tadpoles hatch. The timing depends on the species
3. The gills disappear and the lungs mature. Back legs develop.
4. The front legs mature and the tadpoles begin using them. Tails get smaller and smaller, until they disappear completely.
5. The fully morphed frog can now hop on solid ground,But must stay near water to keep their skin moist.

So for people who are interested that is the life- cycle of a frog.

My tadpole is coming....

My tadpole is coming!!! For this past Christmas, I got a frog habitat and it comes with a free tadpole by mail. So my Mom ordered the tadpole and it said it will be coming in 4-6 weeks. It has almost been a month. My tadpole will arrive between today and Feb. 16th for those who are wondering. I am very excited. I can't wait for it to get here. Do you know that tadpoles can eat fish food?

I got a bug sucker for Christmas also, and there is a small bug keeping cage that is removable and is able to fit in the feeding hole in my frog habitat. So now I can feed crickets to my frog that I catch around the house. Now, whenever I find a cricket I give it to my pet rats. They love eating live crickets. And they eat dead ones, too. Ewwwww!!!!
